    At the early development stage of GISs, the planar graph model has been used for spatial data modeling. The multi dimensional and dynamic spatial entities were mapped into two dimensional points, lines and polygon objects with associated attributes. This resulted 2 or 2.5 dimensional geo spatial data framework, which has been widely used in various fields and has been found many limitations. There is now a demand from many applications to develop a new generation of geo spatial data framework for three dimensional and dynamic environment. This leads to the evolution of multi dimensional and dynamic geo spatial data framework. After a discussion of the concepts and history of geo spatial data framework, this paper tries to define the context of multi dimensional and dynamic geo spatial data framework, and identify a list of challenging issues for futureresearch.

    Tu" in Chinese words, means maps representing spatial information in graphics , also including images, illustrates and other graphic forms of representing spa tial informatic;"Pu"is a system built according to thing's characteristics or time series. Geo Informatic Tupu has two characteristics with graphics and pedigree. Formed from a great deal of geo information in digit through graphic thinking and abstract generalization, Geo Informatic Tupu is a means and method of using computer multi dimensional and dynamic visualization technology to display and reveal the spatial configuration and spatial temporal change rule of earth system and its elements and phenomena. Five parts are discussed in this paper, they are: 1. the basic concept of Tupu; 2. the discussion of Geo Informatic Tu pu; 3. the basic process and steps of building Geo Informatic Tupu; 4.the example of Geo Informatic Tupu complex Informatic Tupu of natural landscape in China. 5. the meanings of and prospects for Geo Informatic Tupu.

    City is a kind of Man Land relationship system. Digital city is the urban information system or digital nervous system of city. It must reflect the Man Land relationships of the real city; Digital city is the mapping of man land relationships of real city into information space. The main body of city and Digital City is mankind; it composed of government, enterprises and citizen. So urban information system is composed of government information systems, enterprise Information Systems and public information service system. Government information system is the kernel of digital city. Digital city construction must be Man Land relationship central and information model driven, people database and Geo database are kernel databases of the Digital City.

    The relationship between the urban thermal field and factors of afforestation and construction in Harbing is established by using TM thermal image and ground data. It's clear that afforestation can weaken the urban thermal radiation field and construction can strengthen it, especially in summers. According to balancing calculation, it's proper that the minimum and the ideal value of the city's percentage of green coverage are 27% and 40% respectively. And the building density should be controlled below 27% aimed to improve the management of urban ecosystem.

    This paper analysed the region development history of Guang Fu met ropolis. We studied on the settlements development of Guang Fu metropolis a rea during 20th century using data mining methods based GIS and RS technology,data sources from SPOT,TM imageries and topography base maps(1:50000) were used. Four features of double core,life rhythm,J F(Jump Fill),TOD are co ncluded from the spatio temporal information TUPU of settlement in Guang Fu metropolis. Some problems of spatio temporal information TUPU future study are discussed.

    Urban spatial information infrastructure is one of important supporting core of digital city. In this paper, based on the practice of developing Haidian district information system, authors introduce the integration of spatial foundation information oriented urban management. Meanwhile, authors present the reference methods in the project, which including large digital image compress, vectors process and diverse information composition according to the geographical feature.

    This paper discusses the purpose,technical need,design idea and implement method of the construction of basic information platform of information system of intellect administration of Digital Haidian. The basic information system platform of Digital Haidian employ first 1∶2000 scale of colour air photo map as a hunting engine that possess the features of directly perceived through the senses,strongly sense of reality and simply operation. At the same time, a 25GB of great capacity data is compressed by advanced wavelet compressive technique. So that Digital Haidian can works well in personal computer or packet one. The model of Digital Haidian, at present, can provide constructive reference of information system for administration of city in China.

    This paper study on the method of the evaluation of land resource suitability supported by GIS, including selection of evaluation object, determination of classification system of the evaluation, selection of the evaluation factors, determination of target gradation and its fraction value (index) and weighed average value to the evaluation factors, and so on. Based on the evaluation of land resource suitability In Jianan district of Fuzhou, some suggestions on the rational exploitation and utilization of land resource are put forward.

    In this paper, regulation and methodology of correlation between different soil classification systems are discussed, correlation between soil genetic classification and Chinese Soil Taxonomy of main soil types in Fujian is demonstrated, and the draft of keys to soil taxonomical classification of Fujian Province is put forward based on research experiences and data accumulated, which could promote the reformation of regional soil classification, be in favor of academic exchange and introducing technology in the domain, as well as providing a basis for correlation of soil resource across Taiwan Strait.

    Land use/cover changes(LUCC)have long been important issues in Taiwan. Many studies have been done by geographers and related researchers. Most work investigated environmental impacts of land use/cover changes. Some focused on the issue of exploration or explanation of spatial distribution of specific land use/cover pattern. Since last decade, university experts and government agencies in Taiwan have conducted many international LUCC studies. They have actively involved in research activities in the Southeast Asian Regional Committee(SARCS)for START(Global Change System for Analysis, Research and Training), LUCC IGBP(the International Geosphere Biosphere Programme), LUCC IHDP(the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change Programme), IGU LUCC(International Geographical Union)and other international LUCC related research activities. To establish temporal digital databases of land use/cover in different periods is the most important work for the study of LUCC. This research is an attempt to present briefly LUCC studies for several sources in Taiwan. The digital databases of land use/cover in Taiwan are introduced. In additions, a browsing of LUCC over past 40 years is also described.

    This paper is based on the Ninth Five Year Plan of National Key Science and Technology Project and introduces the latest related research achievement: utilizing 3S (RS, GIS, GPS ) technology to carry out land dynamic monitoring in county level; combining Cellular Automaton (CA) and GIS, building CA based model in land use evolution; using the model to simulate the dynamic monitoring data of Baotou city from 1992 to 1998 and forecast the trend of its city land use evolution in the forthcoming 15 years.

    This paper reviews the development history of spatial data model, introduces the data model of geodatabase, and explicates the objectClass, feature class, feature dataset, relationship class, domains and rules in the model. Based on the understanding to Geodatabase, the paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Geodatabase. In order to make the object oriented spatial model better, this paper gives some advice about restriction rules of compound objects, spatial temporal expression, breakthrough layers, etc.

    This paper makes an analysis on model base and the integration method of GIS and application models based on model base. After making a comparison on the integration method of model base with other old integration methods, the authors bring up a new scheme on integration of GIS and application models: spatial decision support model base system driven by intelligence. The new system is supported by data base, model base and knowledge base technique. The paper makes an analysis from how to build knowledge base serving model base, the decision flowsupported by intelligent model base and so on. It also gives an instance of basin environment pollution management based on intelligent model base system, which validates the feasibility and validity of the new model integration method.

    As the study object of Geography,Geo spatial system is a typical complex system,consisting of physical, social and economic subsystems. The complexity is an essential characteristic of Geo Spatial System. Thus, the basic essence and mechanism of many geographical phenomena or events have not been revealed, not to mention quantitative analysis and prediction. As an emerging branch of AI, however, Case based Reasoning (CBR), has been regarded as a promising tool to study such a complex system. Since it is a perfect model of human recognition and its working mechanism is very similar to the human primitive reasoning logic, CBR has the inborn ability of quantitative interpretation and prediction simply based on similarity of historical events even there is difficulty to get the working mechanism, principles, or build statistical models for those complex system. Inspired from such a study tool of complex system, the possibility and feasibility of introducing CBR to geographical system study to solve the problem of quantitative interpretation and prediction, has been fully discussed in this paper. And the Geo case based reasoning was promoted, and then give some detail thoughts of this method.
